The Malaria P.f/P.v Ag Test is a chromatographic immuno assay (CIA) for the rapid qualitative determinatin of P.f/P.v
Ag in whole blood. The membrane is pre-coated with antigen capture antibody on the test region. During testing, the red blood cells are lysed releasing Pf HRP- II and pLDH which are allowed to react with the colloidal gold particles coated with Mal-antibody to form antibody-antigen complex. The complex then moves laterally on the membrane and binds to the antibody immobi lized on the membrane producing a pink line on the test region, which indicates a positive result. The presence of the control line demonstrates the test has been performed correctly regardless the presence of P.f/P.v Ag.
